Bay State Reprographics - AutoCAD 2000 Plot Configuration & PLT Instructions

1) Launch AutoCAD 2000.
2) Under the FILE MENU, select PLOTTER MANAGER.
3) Use the ADD A PLOTTER WIZZARD to assist in creating the New Plotter for Plot To File.
4) The ADD PLOTTER INTRO PAGE comes up, CLICK on NEXT.
5) Choose MY COMPUTER and CLICK on NEXT.
6) Under MANUFACTURERS, choose HEWLETT-PACKARD.
7) Under MODELS, choose DesignJet 750C Plus C4709B. CLICK on NEXT.
8) Disregard the warning and CLICK CONTINUE.
9) You now have the option to IMPORT your PCP or PC2 file at this time. If you choose to, click on IMPORT FILE, do so and then CLICK on NEXT. Otherwise, just CLICK ON NEXT.
10) Choose PLOT TO FILE and then CLICK on NEXT.
11) Enter a name for your new plotter: Enter Baystate DPlot. CLICK on NEXT.
12) CLICK on FINISH.
13) PLOT TO FILE PLOTTER is now available.

1) To begin, OPEN up your first drawing.
2) SELECT PLOT from the FILE MENU.
3) In the Upper Left Corner of the window, make sure SAVE CHANGES TO LAYOUT is CHECKED.
4) Under PLOT DEVICE, PLOTTER CONFIGURATION, choose Baystate D/Plot.
5) Under PLOT TO FILE, make sure PLOT TO FILE is CHECKED.
6) Check the FILE NAME and SAVE LOCATION in the Bottom Right Corner.
7) Assign a PLOT STYLE TABLE (Pen Assignments) or Choose to Edit or Create a New Table (ctb).
8) In the PLOT STYLE TABLE EDITOR, Assign all colors to BLACK and SET LINEWEIGHTS.
9) After selecting the Pen Assignments, SAVE & CLOSE the dialogue box (be sure and check whether your lineweights are millimeters or inches).
10) Click on the PLOT SETTINGS TAB and set your PAPER SIZE, ORIENTATION, PLOT AREA and SCALE.
11) Choose FULL PREVIEW to verify that the Plot is Correct.
12) FINISH THE PLOT by CLICKING on OK.
13) You have now successfully created a Plot File to send to Bay State Reprographics!

** These PLT files that you give to Bay State Reprographics will have the lineweights, size and scale built in. When dropping off or EMailing to Baystate, please tell us that you have D/Plots.**

Some Important Notes:
- If you are plotting EXTENTS, make sure that you perform a ZOOM EXTENTS prior to creating the .PLT file to ensure AutoCAD updates the extents.
- You should always do a Full Preview to verify the plot looks correct, otherwise you may end up with wasted chargeable output.
